Kevin's dotfiles

Requirements

• blasket (Lenovo T580) and the three VPS servers dingle, adrigole and annascaul all run Alma Linux 9.
• manage bash files, .tmux.conf, vim config
• move a home/.local/bin directory around
• /usr/local/bin will be managed by the ansible package
• Not too much to do with Sway, but want bat, fastfetch, maybe aerc files moved in .config

Programs I want to use

• alacritty as my terminal emulator. Uses papercolor theme.
• bat as my pager, cat alternative, manpager etc.
• bash
• eza instead of ls
• fuzzel
• fzf
• helix as a new editor
• nnn for file browsing
• nvw-sh to manage node versions
• oculante as image viewer.
• starship
• waybar
• wttrbar, a Rust program for weather on the waybar
• nvim, specifically https://www.lazyvim.org/
• sway as the Wayland tiling window manager.
• Store my bookmarks on my own cloud using buku. Read on laptop or phone.
• tmux to start automatically when connecting to dingle or annascaul.
• zoxide instead of cd
• A rust screen switcher named waytrogen.

Installation

• Basically just a pull from the git repo to a local copy and install from there

   cd src/dotfiles
   git pull
   ./move_dots.sh

Todo

• Once it's checked in, push to all five destinations (SSH key issues?)
• Pull stuff into a local file that is host dependent
• Remove crud
• Revise the layout so that it looks exactly like the destination home directory

Major updates

• 11/10/2025 canary in the gold mine for git.internal
• 09/01/2025 install immediately after pulling repo using ./move_dots.sh
• 05/28/2024 big reset. Remove Spacevim, hypr etc. Just sway, alacritty, bat, btop, fuzzel and waybar
